Pay Rate & Details -
Fully truck and tooled- $30pr/hr $45ot 120/day perdiem 60hrs a week
Fully truck and tooled with out Fiber Splicer-
$30pr/hr $45ot $75per day perdiem 60hrs a week. Work is abundant and is expected to las a minimum of 1 to 2yrs. conservatively.
Qualifications -
Minimum 1-2 yrs verifiable experience w/ mass fusion and or loose tube splicing (864 and or 432 count fiber, new build, etc.) will cross train if necessary. OTDR testing capabilities are a PLUS. Other Requirements
Must have valid drivers license and passport/ will help expedite if you don't have passport. Must have clean criminal record
Job Description
Work is 100% new build no hot cuts; specs are tight and your work will be scrutinized thoroughly. You will need a quality digital camera to archive your work and progress; no cell phone photos. Must have experience w/ TYCO and or Preformed closures. Must have FULL SIZE van or van bucket, fiber trailer, or acceptable rig to work out of. Full man hole package is a must!!! Pay role deduction may be considered for the right candidates. Certifications are a PLUS/ or any accredited related vocational training. Any recent DUI need not apply, as well as non adjudicated or non expunged felons. Pay is issued in Canadian funds as we are a Canadian Corporation. Rate of exchange is approx. 7% conservatively.... Currently; work is scheduled for 5 days a week &12hrs/day; However due to the demands and estimated time tables of our customers, additional over time may be required. Alternating work schedules will be in effect for each assigned team in order to provide 7 day a week coverage. You will be assigned to a team and be expected to work as a team; only mature & competent self starters need apply.... MAN HOLE PACKAGE : man hole guard hook combustible and or constant monitoring 4 gas tester blower & hose pump generator man hole ladder minimum of 6 cones w/ reflective tape
I&R Technician (BC & AB)

-Must have excellent computer skills,
-Must be extremely proficient in POTS/ADSL - IPTV is a bonus.
-Need to have ability to spur if necessary and prove you can do it safely, -Must have Laptop,
-Air Card is necessary not mandatory,
-Must have cell phone-Must have all safety equipment necessary, IE... 5 Point Harness, C9970, -High voltage gloves, Traffic cones, poll strap, lanyard etc.
-Must have some sort of ADSL 2+ meter
-Must have white vehicle
-Must have all your own tools- ladders -Must have CO punch down / wrap tools
Job Description - This is a Install and Repair technician position for POTS/ADSL which you must know, If you know IPTV that is great and there will be plenty of extra work for you and preference on work locations available.
The job includes working from the central office to the customers set.
You will be responsible for hanging drops if they are bad or missing,upgrading/installing nids,nibs, changing CO and Distribution pairs if they are faulty, Repairing/Installing inside wire in the customers home/business, running adsl/pots jumpers in the CO and X-Connects,You are not responsible for locating cable faults and fixing the fault, just a pair change is required and that new pair will be provided to you from Assignment.
Your payment options ---- You can go as a Contractor but you will need to do the following which include getting a INC company in the province you work in, If you go INC you will receive full pay out for your bills including GST, %15 will be taken for tax protection. You will also need to get Work Mans Comp and carry 2million general liability.
Option 2 -- you will be paid based on a piece rate but pay you as an employee and we cover your Work Mans comp .If you are an American citizen you do not have to pay tax in both countries you will only pay in Canada.
This is a long term contract we expect to get at least 5 more years out of this contract, as we are now in the 3rd year. This is not a relief/Strike type contract so we don't run our contractors 7 days a week 12hrs a day.
In the busy season you can pick up 6 days a week work no problem and some weeks maybe 7.
So if you are tired of moving from contract to contract every 6 months this is the job for you....
